There is an old Zen story of when a young boy comes to a master. The Master asks the boy “You want to learn to fight?” The boy replies “Yes I want to learn to fight, to be the best!” The Master asks “Boy, you want to hurt people?” The boy replies “Yes master I do!” The master replies, “Then learn to heal people first, hurting people is easy.”

This today is something each person in the world should be focused on because there is too much hurt, too much injury and violence. And the truth is we have no right to cause harm to people.

Sometimes it cannot be avoided, but the highest level of martial art training is to escape. “In true self-defense, there is no body contract.”

Kosho Concepts is part of the Kosho Ryu, a complete martial art. This means it is an endless study, a look at the natural laws that govern our world. And this means that the study does not end when the lights of the Dojo go out at night. It is our WAY of life itself.  This is the root art of Grandmaster Art Mason.
